Same Focus; More of It

Greetings, and Happy New Year!  As I detoxify from a holiday long series of stunningly poor food choices, it is time to refresh and refocus for the new year.  Refocus is perhaps the wrong word.  The focus of what I do here at believeandobey.net will remain the same for the most part.  However, there will be more of it, as I think there is a need to become more vocal in pursuit of peace.

First, and foremost is the proclamation of Jesus Christ as Lord.  It begins and ends there.  All that I seek to do is rooted in this proclamation and the faith that God has given me.  Therefore, all that I seek to do I do is in His name.  Job one is to stop the slaughter of God’s children, regardless of how they worship or who they are.  We are to love one another as Jesus loves us (John 13:34).  This means at a minimum we do not kill one another.  This is also the most important issue of our time, as it is in every age.

So, peace will remain the overriding focus of all that I do publicly.  However, as part of that it has become clear to me that we need to focus on the means of warfare.  That takes us into the realm of economics, specifically monetary policy.  This is the main way that the government surreptitiously transfers billions to the warfare state.  In the process, the average citizen is subject to a hideously immoral bottom to top redistribution of wealth.

Exposing this transfer and resultant ripoff is critical to understanding how the state makes war and build empire.  Through better understanding we have a better chance of hemming in the imperial war state.

I know economics is boring for most.  That is what the power elite is counting on.  To that end I will endeavor to make these topics as understandable as possible, drawing upon my background in the financial services sector.

Along with this there will be some takes on the state of the imperial economy, and some insight into where the traps are laid and how to avoid them.  It seems if one is to complain, one ought to at least offer an alternative for folks to think about.

In all of this I take as my guiding Bible Verse Matthew 10:16 “See, I am sending you out like sheep into the midst of wolves; so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.”  I take this to mean at a practical level that we should work to make the world a little more the way it should be, but to not be a rube in the process.  This starts with a clear-eyed look at the world as it is.

The New Format

Beginning this Monday the 5th. The new format will see me posting three times per week:

Mondays: Withhold Unto Caesar; tips for understanding and surviving the Imperial Economy.

Wednesdays: The Way of Peace; Essays on the scriptural and practical case for peace.

Fridays: Friday Reflections; Reflections on bringing the Peace of Christ into your life.

This will be the base format week to week.  In the not too distant future, I hope to mix in some audio and video versions of these posts for those that prefer to consume content that way, as well as a possible podcast.  I also have a book I hope to have published by the fall (fingers crossed) concerning the coming crackup of the US empire.

This is an ambitious schedule to be sure.  As they say, nothing ventured, nothing gained.  In a world drifting into competing blocs with a rising chance of great power war this ambition is necessary.  The stakes are too high, and the hour is too late, and at this point in my life I am done playing for anything but keeps.

My prayer is that we all join together to at least engage in some basic harm reduction and dial back the threat of global conflagration.  It only is possible if we try.

May God’s peace be with all of you and I look forward to extending that peace a bit into the world in 2026.

Praise Be to God
