A Radical Christian Perspective on the World's News & Current Events

COMING SOON! New Book Understanding God: The Joy of Finally Hearing God’s Good and Gracious Word  Expected about Labor Day!

What Are We Doing Here?

The purpose of this site is to give full expression of my faith in Jesus Christ as Risen Lord and Savior.  Since I have been given the gift of faith in God and His son, Jesus the Christ I feel compelled to respond with gratitude.  All of us should seek to do good works, not in order to gain salvation, but because we have been given salvation as a free gift.

Therefore, as with all God’s children, I will seek to, as feebly, as I can, to do what I can in furtherance of God’s Kingdom.  To that end I focus on two areas of concern: peace and stewardship.

The focus on peace is critical.  All that God desires for His children is wrapped up in furthering peace and ending violence among and between humanity.  This is of primary concern.  All that we could ever hope to accomplish in God’s world depends upon nonviolence.  The command to love God and love your neighbor, as well as the New Commandment given at the Last Supper to love one another the way that God loves us puts this effort front and center.  In a world of war and under the constant threat of nuclear destruction the only battle worth waging is the battle for peace.

The second area of focus is stewardship.  This is simply because I have an extensive background in financial services and retirement planning.  I know the intricacies of this world; I understand the pitfalls and traps and I can identify the opportunities.  I, by virtue of my past, can help people succeed in this area, and it is my firm conviction that God wants us to use all our human experience to further His mission.

To further both goals, this site has been constructed to connect you with resources to explore your faith in a practical way, to think about what God wants for His children and to get involved and increase your impact.

May all of us seek, not our will but His!  Praise Be to God!

Dangerous Math

The Nature of Provocation Last week I discussed the world’s oldest equation.  In that same spirit of mathematics I wish to discuss some very dangerous math, as in the math between two armed camps.  Almost everyone in the west, certainly in the United States, takes it for granted that the …

The Oldest Formula in History

A Sad Equation There are many equations in human history. Probably the most famous is E=MC(2). As famous and important as that equation is, it is not the oldest. The oldest equation that matters in human history is Humanity + Power = Violence. It is a simple equation that has …

I Already Told You The text this week is John 10:22-30. This is a a short and simple passage that creates justifiably comfortable imagery. The passage begins with Jesus in Jerusalem and the festival of the Dedication. This is to commemorate the reconsecration of the Second Temple in 164 BC …

The $ Behind the U$ Empire

Ideology Only Goes So Far As discussed, last week, it seems demonstrable that the U.S. is acting on a virulent ideology of Messianic Global Manifest Destiny. This emerging ideology sees the U.S. as destined to not only be central in the world but to control the entire world. There are …

Briefly Out of Hiding The Gospel text this week is John 21: 1-19. This is the story of how most of the disciples finally come out of hiding to…go fishing. We should not judge them too harshly; I mean they do have to eat. Also, they do not have the …
