What Are We Doing Here?
The purpose of this site is to give full expression of my faith in Jesus Christ as Risen Lord and Savior. Since I have been given the gift of faith in God and His son, Jesus the Christ I feel compelled to respond with gratitude. All of us should seek to do good works, not in order to gain salvation, but because we have been given salvation as a free gift.
Therefore, as with all God’s children, I will seek to, as feebly, as I can, to do what I can in furtherance of God’s Kingdom. To that end I focus on two areas of concern: peace and stewardship.
The focus on peace is critical. All that God desires for His children is wrapped up in furthering peace and ending violence among and between humanity. This is of primary concern. All that we could ever hope to accomplish in God’s world depends upon nonviolence. The command to love God and love your neighbor, as well as the New Commandment given at the Last Supper to love one another the way that God loves us puts this effort front and center. In a world of war and under the constant threat of nuclear destruction the only battle worth waging is the battle for peace.
The second area of focus is stewardship. This is simply because I have an extensive background in financial services and retirement planning. I know the intricacies of this world; I understand the pitfalls and traps and I can identify the opportunities. I, by virtue of my past, can help people succeed in this area, and it is my firm conviction that God wants us to use all our human experience to further His mission.
To further both goals, this site has been constructed to connect you with resources to explore your faith in a practical way, to think about what God wants for His children and to get involved and increase your impact.
May all of us seek, not our will but His! Praise Be to God!

There He Is! Visible Grace in Our World
There is Always a Light in the World It is easy to look out at the world and despair. It seems that earthly reality is a never-ending miasma of war, destruction, hate and depredations of human rights. I am certainly as susceptible to this phenomenon as anyone. Yet, to constantly …
Go Forth in the Name of All Three
Clear and Unclear This Sunday is Trinity Sunday and the text at first glance appears out of place. It is Matthew 28: 16-20. It is a short passage that on the one hand is very clear. It show Jesus telling the disciples to go forth and “make disciples of all …
Top Ten Songs of Summer
Rather than repost an empire bashing Memorial Day essay, perhaps it would be healthier to focus on something more uplifting. Since Memorial Day is the unofficial start of the summer season it seems good to pick out some of the best that summer music has to offer, since music is …
A Poetic Message
More Metaphors The text for this Pentecost Sunday is John 7: 37-39. This is not at all as exciting as the dramatic presentation contained in the traditional reading of Acts 2: 1-21. This is the scene that describes tongues of fire descending upon the Apostles. This very short passage by …
The Reactionary State
What Exactly is a Reactionary? Many people are charged with being a reactionary. It is taken for granted that being labeled as a reactionary is a negative thing. However, the label is tossed around without much consideration given to the meaning, either by the one leveling the charge, or the …
Jesus Prays
In Prayer, the Truth The text this week is John 17: 1-11. This sees Jesus deep in prayer for His disciples. It seems mundane but think about it, this is our Savior and Lord, the one whom we worship and praise. Yet here He is praying for us. Jesus does …
